<HTML>I believe my uncle Richard M. Zacheis was a mechanic on this boat. They called him Zachie. My mom always told the story that while on this boat off the coast of Africa the engines stopped working and they were dead in the water. My Uncle worked all night long and got them running again so they wouldn't be torpedoed. I am trying to find out any information about this event. Thanks</HTML>
