HMS Sportsman ( S class submarine)

<HTML>Is it true that the Sportman torpedoed and sunk the french boat "Napoléon Bonaparte" on 1943 may the 19th, between Corsica and France ?
And what could be the reason of this mission ?

Thank's a lot for responses, a parent who was in the boat wants to know before his dead why he had to swimm that day.</HTML>
