Accident onboard the USS Goodrich

<HTML>My father, WIlliam M. Cone was involved in a torpedo accident onboard the USS Goodrich in which my fathers hand was almost completly severed and another sailor lost his hand completly. Does anyone have any information on this event or know were I can inquire about it?
