Dear Bill Lloyd
My father Bill Evans was one of the Marines Bandsmen who survived the HMS Trinidad torpedeo event, The luck of fate was that one of the bandsman wanted to swap shifts. My father obliged and was not in the TS when the awful events happened. My father Bill is still alive and is living in Dorset. I udnerstand your Uncle George also lived in Dorset and on one occassion later in life before Geogre died they actually meet up.
I would be very interested in seeing any photos of the Royal Marines in barracks. Are these the same photos on the RM Bands man website in the article?
I assume you are aware there is a memorial plaque at the chruch in Wembrey near Plymouth to the RM bandsmen that died on HMS Trinidad.
I have started putting together a website of my father's expereinces:
Regards
Pip Evans
