HMS Suffolk

I have recently found out that my grandad was involved in the British Navy expeditions in the Arctic, helping to keep Russia in the war by taking vital supplies across the Barents Sea to the ports of Murmansk and Archangel.

I was hoping to get some more information about these dangerous missions and if possible photographs that I could look at to get a better idea of the conditions that had to be endured.

He was apparently on HMS Suffolk so if there is any information of that particular vessel I would be very interested... but any information on these crossings to Russia is what I'm keen to investigate further.

Any help much appreciated.
Thanks.
