Hello everyone.
I'm researching the Royal Navy's action off Texel on the evening of the 31st August 1940 when two destroyers, the Eske and the Ivanhoe were sunk and a third, the Express, badly damaged.
Having read about the action from the British perspective I'm looking for information about the Kriegsmarine forces involved.
Can anyone give me the details of any German ships involved or the make up of the convoy the British destroyers were attacking. What were the German ships doing in the area at that time?
Many thanks for any information.
Best regards Ron C.
