I have read with interest details of the sinking of HMS Birdlip. My late uncle Keith Derick Hull was one of the survivers. He would never talk about his experiences only to say that he was on deck one minute and next thing he remembered was waking up in the water. I beleive he saw some disturbing sights while in the water as he would never talk about it and would not eat tuna
