Hi John
Just found you on this website and I am very interested in the Flaunt.
My brother Walter known as Pete able seaman gunner was sent to Orange in Texas where she was fitted out to serve with the Royal navy.
She was commissioned on the 21st Dec. 1943.He remained aboard until 1945 where he had his appendics removed and was sent back to the UK he was aboard the ship when they towed the Mulberry Harbour sections.
He was probably the life and soul of the ship with him playing the accordion and telling the stories that he told me his much younger brother who idolised his sailor brother.
Pete sadly passed away in 1991.
I unfortunately do not have any memorabilia from the Flaunt so would really appreciate any photos or information you may have I did contact the docks at Orange but they were not any help i build scale model boats from scratch using plans and that is one set of plans I haven't been able to get.
I do so look forward to hearing from you.
