Hi Rick
I am 1 of Tommy Inglis's granddaughters and I had the great pleasure today of reading that 3 page detailed letter of what happened that awful day the ship went down. I had no idea my grandfather was involved in such a tragedy but can only be thankful for Jackie rescuing him or I wouldn't be here today. Whilst ready the letter I was filled with so much emotions as I felt I finally got to know who my grandfather was as I unfortunately never got to meet him as he died 4 yrs prior to my birth. He speaks very openly about his feelings about the event and for a man in the navy that must have been hard but his humour also come through on the letter mentioning that he had to finish writing his letter as my gran wanted the table to put dinner out. Thank you so much for passing this letter on, i will treasure my copy forever.
