Moray Firth was an aircraft engine repair and maintenance ship; 0ne of a group of seven merchant ships under construction and taken over and converted to repair ships, she was built at South Shields by Readhead, launched 17 October 1944.
10,000 tons 447ft x 56ft
She did not complete and commission until after the end of the war, in October 1945 and was then sent to the Pacific in January 1946. Returned to UK in May 1946 and laid up until sold out for commercial use in 1947.
