Brian so grateful for your continued interest. I am writing a storey on late jim Bridgland who as Commodore of Cruising Yacht Club of Australia did 7 Sydney-Hobart Races conducted by the Club. He donated the engraved ML493 ship's bell to the Club and it is used to summon meetings. A plaque says "Lode" so you have already aided my data.

You are obviously a buff on this subject and may know there is a book published on the Austalian Faimiles from which I count 35 built/assembled here together with 28 HDML. the former carry the pennant numbers you specify e.g. 827.

Would you have a guess then as to how many built U.K.?

In the meantime would appreciate your continuing interest and will post again as I get further down the track.

Oh! Thanks too about the comment about their listings. The Australian ones had some long and exciting trips. Pity they are so disregarded because they had a number and not a name.

Regards,

Tony
