Re: role of the R.C.N. in the war against the u-boats

To give you some peace of mind, I would think that anyone who has read widely or actually served in WWII against Germany's U-Boats KNOWS the role of the RCN in helping to win this key longest-running battle of the war.
Beginning the war with only a handful of warships and fewer than 3000 ratings, the RCN did become the world's 3rd largest navy by war's end and in the process escorted approximately 50% of the Atlantic merchant fleet safely to their ports in Europe. We owe these men a great thanks...
Maybe you are right...the general public may not be aware of the role of the RCN but it can be the duty of people such as yourself, myself, members of this site, veterans, and historians to make sure that their sacrifice is not forgotten...
