My husband is Donald Eugene WHITMAN. He was on board the PC1128 when it was sung at "Buckner's Bay during Typhoon Louise. Our granddaughter Chelsea Whitman Wanko has also posted info about him. He has a diary that was retrieved from the wreckage that we still have in our possession as well as the three telegrams that Chelsea related. For a long time he communicated with a Charles McVey who was also picked up at the same time as Don was by the Norwegian freighter headed back to the Philippines.
