Hi Platon,
thanks again for the input. I found, however, that the book takes too many of the submariners' claims at face value and is replete with errors in assessing the effectiveness of some attacks. For reasons unknown to me, the author appears not to have consulted any Axis sources dealing with the actual losses, see for example the claim of the sinking of Zeffiro et al.
I cannot speak for the british side, but from an italian standpoint the accuracy of the narrative leaves an awful lot to be desired.
