Re: USS PCE-847

My dad, Harold Howland served on PCE 847 during the end of the war and after the war for a period until his discharge. After the war the ship was converted to a weather ship. He told me stories of sailing into the center of typhoons to take weather measurments for the NOAA. He passed away in September of 1985. I'd appreciate any pictures or info about the ship and its missions.
