It is probably not very useful, but my grandfather was one of the survivors, his name was Jack W Ellmers. I would love to hear more as unfortunately my grandfather died 30 years ago when I was 7. I have heard that the ship that rescued him also went down, but I don't know whether that was an ellaboration!
