Hello Platon,
extending my research I've found another possible ship, close to the size
to HMS Santa. This "new" ship is HMS Rysa (T 164) a 545 tons Royal Navy MS Trawler.
This ship was mined and sunk off Maddallena, Italy on 8 December 1943.
I have the HMS Santa plans and the ship is very similar to the one that now
lays on the bottom of the sea. I visited the wreck twice and checking Her shape I was sure it could be the HMS Santa. So now I must start a new research on HMS Rysa.
I'm conducting a parallel research on the italian "front", having informations here
in much harder. I'm waiting (just bought) an old book with all italian sea mine fileds of WWII. I wrote USMM (Ufficio Storico) but I had no answer back.
I know this research will take long but Ihave time.
BTW if you have informations about the sinking of HMS Rysa I will appreciate the help.
