HMAS Wollongong - Lt Thomas Hartley Smith

This is my first posting on this Forum.

My father was the commanding officer of HMAS Wollongong when it was deployed to the Med. He was in command when U617 was attacked and finally beached in the Med. His vessel together with a RN corvette shelled the U617 until it was destroyed on shore.
