It appears that HMS Bann joined WS33 on the sailing from Freetown on 14 September 1943 arriving Durban on 14 October 1943.
From the dates you mention, HMS Bann was involved in the following convoys:
CM46. CM46B. BA54S. AKD8. AB23.
Apparently all within the ADEN, DURBAN, BOMBAY boundary.
You can check this on: www.convoyweb.org.uk
Rangoon was occupied by the Japanese from January 1942 to May 1945.
WS33 is mentioned in Archie Munro’s book “The Winston Specials”. From that I gather that HMS Bann went no further East than Bombay.
Good hunting
Phil
