HMS Tyne

My father served on HMS Tyne between December 1941 to the end of January 1944.
When he was alive, he talked of being involved with the Russian convoys, but there is no mention of any intership transfer from the Tyne to any of the destroyer fleet,(of which the Tyne was depot ship), in his service records.
Is it possible that crew were taken from the Tyne, to man the escort destroyers without notification of the transfer in service documents?
