Dear Forum members,
Hello.
I am trying to identidy which german U-boat made the following journey:
- on 17 march 1918 the U-boat left from Pola around 18:30hrs (6:30pm)
- on 19 March 1918 in the early hours of the morning, the U-boat was passing through the Strait of Otranto
- on 21 March 1918 around 19:00hrs (7pm) it emerged in the Bay of Messini in South-Western Peloponess, Greece...more precisely just outside the city of Messini (near Kalamata).
- there were 33 german members onboard (including officers)
This data comes from a diary.
My research until now has led to either UB-51 or UB-68 (but i am not sure).
My questions are: (1) Can anyone please help me in identifying which U-boat it was? (2) Where can i view the KTBs of UB-51 and UB-68 online for that particular period (17-21 march 1918)? I checked the Bundesarchiv search engine and saw that they are in the archiv, but i do not know if the KTBs of WWI german u-boats are available to read online from the Bundesarchiv website or if i have to go to Freiburg to read them. Thank you in advance for any possible assistance.
