We discussed this one before the big crash. Yes, von Heimburg was in command of both boats, though at least one was undergoing yard work at the time.
I am aware of a similar case in Flanders, were a CO's reular boat (an UCII) was in for repairs for two months, so he was seconded out to temporarily command an UBI boat and later an UCI boat (as a recall it) meaning he was technically in charge of two ir even three boats at once.
