<HTML>Hello again,
Recently I have obtained a large book called German Warships of the World War 1, (the royal navys official guide to the capital ships, cruisers, destroyers, submarinesand small craft 1914-18) pub 1992, 416 pages.
The book is a reprint of various official navy documents. Contained therein are a large number of pictures and drawings of u boats and credited to the ordance survey may 1918. Does anyone know what role the ordance survey played in the collecting of pictures of u boats?
Plate 3 and 4 show pictures claimed to be of the u 51 series. but all the pics show the vessels without net cutters. Every pic I have seen so far of the u 51 series show the vessels with net cutters fitted. Any ideas please on the above points?
