I think the family went to Vale, Colorado. I interviewed the youngest daughter, Maria, on Goodenough island in New Guinea ca 1969 when she was doing mission work there. She sang Do, Re, Mi with schoolgirls lined up on a leaning coconut tree. I got tossed off the top of the mission boat by a swell heading back to Samarai. Had some anxious moments when the trailing lines and hooks for coral trout flashed by.
I reckon if you wrote to Trapp Family at Vale, Colorado they would get the letter if still there.

(Waddya mean forget the movie, what about the boat?. Philistine!)
