<HTML>Hello Yves & Michael,
Unfortunately the fishing smack is not the lighthouse tender, Dorling is not very specific about date or place, but he is specific enough to state the vessel was a purpose-built ship commissioned by and for Trinity House. You have both certainly noticed that there are omissions in both Lloyd's & BVLS. A flagrant one is the XMS T. R. Ferrens, not even listed in Colledge, mined while sweeping Meteor's field in the White Sea.
Alert was lost in the same area where her sistership Irene was mined & sunk, which provides some clues as to location and time frame (second half of 1915).
Sorry to cut in the middle, I got to go to work, talk to you later tonight,
Brian</HTML>
