<HTML>On July 6, 1917 the UC 33 was operating in the North Sea when she stopped and sank two Dutch trawlers. In German accounts these are listed as the M.A. 16 (100 grt) and M.A. 103 (76 grt).
"Lloyd's War Losses", however, includes the names of trawlers sunk on July 6 but not their official numbers:
HANDELEN VISSCHERIJ, 100 grt, sunk at 5650N, 0520E
PIET HEIN, 100 grt, sunk at 5650N, 0520E
In addition the trawler ALBERT CORNELIS is listed as being lost to submarine on approximately July 5, 1917.
It's likely that M.A. 16 and M.A. 103 are, in fact the HANDELEN VISSCHERIJ and PIET HEIN (the loss positions make sense), but which one is which? And what of the ALBERT CORNELIS? Any ideas exactly where and when she might have been sunk?
Thanks in advance,
Michael</HTML>
