You may be interested in two files on this incident at the Public Record Office in Kew held in these two references:

ADM 137/3318 and ADM 137/3813 both files give eye witness reports with rgard to the loss of these 'special service smacks'. The reports can be ordered on-line using these references tho' I know to my cost it is an expensive business.</HTML>
