<HTML>Hi all
my name is Simone from Rome, Italy.
I'm working on the historic research of a ship torpeoded and sunk by an Austrian (or German) submarine in 1917 off
Anzio. The ship was named at that time Brodness (first name Banffshire) and it was a a 5,537 gross ton ship ( length 420ft x beam 54ft) single propeller, refrigerated cargo space.
On 31 Mar 1917 she torpedoed and sunk by an Austrian submarine either U.3 or U.6 as both claimed the sinking.
I also had info about the UC38 German submarine.
Anybody could help me understand what really happened ?
Thanks in advance for any help.
