thank's for your commendation. I've learnd your language for 6 years in school and I was twice in your hometown and once in St. Petesburg. I'm interested in the Russian war at sea from 1914-1917.
Now to your additional question. The cables you mean were communication cables.
S.M. U 151, for example, destroyed the cables with a heavy net cutter, towed over the seabed.
