<HTML>On the morning of 25th April 1916 HMS E22 (Lt Cdr R.T. Dimsdale) was on surface passage in the North Sea. At just after 1150hrs a torpedo fired from the German submarine UB18 (Oblt Georg Neimeyer) holed the submarine sinking her immediately. Of the crew of 33 only two survived to be taken prisoner.
Can anybody shed any more light on this interesting encounter, for example did it happen close to the British coast or far out at sea ?
many thanks
