<HTML>Alemap,
UB 18 and UB 29 were serving in support of the German battlecruiser raid on Lowestoft. UB 18 sailed on April 23 from Flanders and returned home on April 26. Her instructions included to mark the edges of German minefields. UB 18 sighted several British submarines on the 25th, including E26 which nearly rammed her. The sinking location should be fairly close to shore. Bendert gives the time of the sinking as 1740 (German time).
Otto Steinbrinck was in command of UB 18 at this time.
Best wishes,
Michael</HTML>
