Bruce,

I'm pretty sure that most of what we're after has been published in Russia or the Ukraine, it's just that it has not been translated into English or German and, thus, hasn't made an impact yet on our understanding.

I'm suspecting that over the next years must of this sort of information will become more widely available. For example, the information on the loss of U 56 on this website comes from a Russian magazine article that appeared in "Gangut" in 2000. I managed to obtain a translation a few months ago...
