Dear Ron,
My ggfather, Robert SHARP, was boatswain on the Llandovery Castle when it sunk in 1918.
On the 4th June, 1918, he is listed in a record from the National Archives as being on pay at that date, W + E1, signed on in Liverpool, and date agreement signed was the 5th June, 1918.
Do you know if this means that he was already assigned to the Llandovery Castle, got paid and re-signed or that this was his first trip on her.?
I have no idea as to how I can find out which merchant navy ships he had been on previous to her.
Kind Regards, Pam Eustice nee SHARP, South Australia
