Hi Terje,
the "Ledaal" (M.N.G.K.),2,257 grt, fell victim to a sudden gun attack at 05:30 a.m. She was a straggler of convoy of 7 steamers and a few escorts. Fireman Anders Aas of Trondhjem was killed by a splinter while boarding the port lifeboat and was the sole victim. A boarding crew of S.M. U 157 (Rave) placed bombs in the fore hold and blew up the steamer which went down bow first at abt. 08:00 a.m. in 34°11'N 20°20'W, NW of Madeira. Master was Thorstein Gjesdal.
Per Lloyds she was sunk on 17.IX.1918 in 33°50'N 20°15'W.
Per Norwegian list she was sunk in 33°50'N 20°05'W.
