I am by no means an expert at all but 2 books that have been useful to me in my personal search for information have been "U-Boat Hunters: Code Breakers, Divers and the Defeat of the U-Boats 1914-1918 by Robert Grant and "The German Submarine War 1914-1918" by R.H.Gibson and M. Prendergast. Good Luck. I'm sure you'll get many a response from this site.
