Hi Simon,
UB 65 was not responsible, no attack those days...
The "Interrogation of survivors from UB 72" is in TNA-file ADM 137/3060, it's enough to give here the "preliminary note" from this file:

"By a curious coincidence, the only three survivors of U.B. 72 were all making their first cruise in a submarine on active service. They had evidently been too strongly under the influence of the novel sensations of hunting and being hunted to take much note of times and dates, and only one of the men had any clear idea of locality. It has consequently proved impossible to reconstruct the boat's last cruise with strict accuracy, and the following narrative must be regarded rather as representing the general impression left on the minds of the survivors than as a historical record. Several of the attacks made on U.B. 72 do not appear to have occured at the times or in the localities mentioned, but there is considered to be no doubt that the prisoners were honestly endeavouring to tell the truth to the best of their recollection."

I can add, that the survivors mentioned just ONE attack with torpedos:
On 08.05.18 at 1 a.m. against an tank steamer of about 4-5000 tons, torpedo missed
Let's see what Michael can find in U 86's KTB...
