Hello Erik,
As far as I know there was only one toilet in the small and middle type U-boote.
And no washing facilities. De bigger U-boote had a second WC and sometimes folding sinks for a minimum of hygiene.
In the UC-II u-boot class, the toilet was installed on the starboard side, near the mine-storage room and a second one (kept in reserve) in the comdo-room.
There was no privacy, only a curtain in front of the toilet(s) and they could only be used during underwater navigation. What a sh** wasn’t it in that time ?
