I was thinking of two others but did not wish to "lead the witness" by their inclusion in the OP.
I found that similar to WW2, blank or timid patrols would result in critiques which may lead to relieving the commanding officer.
Wonder if commanding officer evaluations by flotilla commanders are available for review?
