Good Day,
I am writing a paper about the effectiveness of u-boats during WW1, taking the perspective of an economist. I need to locate the number of active u-boats by month for the entirety of the war as well as the number of u-boats sunk by month. It would be wonderful if I could know the specific u-boats that are active and the theater of operation but it is not absolutely necessary. I would also like the number of u-boats lost by month.
In "The Military Atlas of WW1" by Michael Neiberg, there is a graph with the number of active u-boats and number sunk by month. So far I have not been able to find the precise numbers that make up the graph. I understand if I were to look at each u-boats summary on this web site, I could probably get a rough number but exact numbers along with knowing which u-boats are active/sunk would help my research efforts considerably.
Thank you in advance.
