I am researching the Capt P E George of the Merchant Marine who was awarded the DSC in Feb 1918. A newspaper article from 1942 suggests this may have been for resisting and possibly severely damaging an attacking U-boat while Captain of the Marie Susanne. Unfortunately I have been unable to find any record of this even which must have taken place in 1917 as the only reference to the Marie Suzanne is to her sinking in late 1918.
Can anyone shed light on this?
Thank You
