HMS Porcupine

<HTML>Dear sub-addicts mates,
one light-hearted story: in 1942 U 602 hit destroyer HMS Porcupine, breaking her in two parts which managed to stay afloat. These parts were towed back to shipyards and...separately rebuilt. They did not weld together the two halves; they added new structures to the surviving parts. The TWO new destroyers were aptly named HMS Pork and HMS Pine. If this story is true, well, the British Admiralty really has the sense of humour. Check the story at:
