Dictionary of Disasters at Sea by Hocking says The British Motor tanker was on passage from Trinidad for Gibralter with 14,000-tons of fuel-oil when at 2am on September 19 1941 she was torpedoed and sunk by German submarine some 30-miles from Cape Spartel, Morroco. She carried a crew of 43, of whom 21 were killed.
INVERLEE was built by Bremer Vulcan, 9158-tons, 503.1ft by 63.8ft by 35.7ft, 1001nhp, 12-knots and oil enginesInver Tankers.
