I heard verbal accounts from Haitian locals of the towns of Jeremie,les Cayes,stating that,during World War II,German U boats use to Resurface at the Southern coast of Haiti, for resupplying mainly in fresh Food. Their stayings were of short durations and mostly unknown by the Haitian Government at the time, which had declared War on Germany, following the US Declaration. I am trying to the double check accounts (some folks may have passed away) since it was a while ago (40-50 years ago) that I heard them when I was in the Island.
