<HTML>I am currently studying my Masters in Shipping Law at the University of
>Cape Town, South Africa, and part of the course is for me to write a
>thesis. The topic I have chosen relates to the protection afforded to
>wrecks in terms of the South African Law.
>I intend to concentrate primarily on submarines as War Graves, and it is
>here that I require assistance.
>According to all the literature I can acquire, there were only two U-boats
>that were sunk close to South Africa; the U-179 and U-197. After speaking
>to many sources however, I have heard stories of 4 other U boats that
>apparently were sunk around South Africa, including near Sea Point, Cape Town and Cape Agulhas.
>Does anyone possibly have any information on these 4 other U boats?, if they exist at all? Maybe even
>another webpage I could visit?
>Any help will be greatly appreciated.
>Many thanks
