<HTML>Possibly this is old news, but yesterday I saw a documentary on Dutch Television (http://www.anderetijden.nl) about the discovery of Seehund U 50595 off the coast of Egmond aan Zee, The Netherlands. It was left where it was beached 57 years ago, because it was thought it could not cause harm. Over the years it slowly sank into the beach and was forgotten.
But currently operations are underway to dig up the wreck and dismantle its two torpedoes, which are believed to have become unstable. It is hoped the torpedoes can be disarmed, otherwise they will be blown up along with Seehund U 50595. With a little luck U 50595 will be recovered intact so it can be put on display.

Hope this is of interest,
