Please, don\'t take this personal or be offended. As a matter of fact, I don\'t know much about U-Boats.

But, shouldn\'t there be a book or some other records where one could find information about Kptlt. Goodboe, where your knowledge about him is written down? It is not that I don\'t believe you, but you must know that about U-Boats there are many stories and legends. Most of us heard of people saying that their grandfather has been on U 47 once, or other such family stories.
I am not saying that what you know isn\'t true, more than once history had to be rewritten, a good example is U-Who (U 869).

I really would like hearing more about your uncle, he has a very interesting story.
