<HTML>Hi Tony
U-boats Commanders had orders to sink an enemy warships,
if it was possible for the Captain to fire a torpedo(s) at them &
convoy, which supply goods to countries which was an enemy
of war to Germany at that time. However, liners I believe was
not the highest list of ships to be sunk by U-boats...!
Although, some liners did receive a \"fish\" into them and did sink from
a U-boat attack during WWII.
Cheers, Joe</HTML>
