Round trip from Kansas, USA, to Altenbruch for about 17 nights (staying at a bed-and-breakfast 5 doors down from the Archiv)...with ALL expenses, some souveniers, etc...about $2000. Included in the visit: access to the U-Boot-Archiv, trips to U-2540, U-995, and Moeltenort. Also met and talked with Guenther Schueller (a former Watch Officer) and Erich Topp. I could have crammed in more, but enjoyed my more leisurely pace.

So a little careful planning, and a fairly inexpensive trip is quite possible on one\'s own, without signing up for a tour.</HTML>
