<HTML>Hi John,
Regardless of what transpired with the Axel Niestle confirmation, 'Johnnie' Walker was a thoroughly reprehensible man whilst serving in his capacity in RN WWll.
There can be irrefutably no doubt that he ordered the U-boat survivor to be knocked back into the oggin - as there can be not much doubt that the chap was left to perish.
The producers of War In Atlantic found the RN seaman and they would NOT have induced him to make a sworn statement of anything other than the pure truth.
Of course there were the rotten apples in many baskets in both sides possession, and it appears the case that the German side suffered their due penalties when apprehended re war crimes. I cannot find a record confirmation of any British serving officer in WWll having been caught up with and punished?? 'Bomber' Harris is referred to as yet another British wartime criminal - what happened to him? A statue placed somewhere strategically! Douglas Bader was another schoolboy hero - so was Lawrence of Arabia ....
Law of any sort IS practiced vastly different in UK to anywhere else in the world - and NOT for the better, no matter the crime.
That's an Aye-Aye John.
