Murmansk Convoys on Norwegian TV

<HTML>As I mentioned last week started a new mini serie here in Norway concerning the Murmans Convoys during WW2.
In the first episode (55minutes)was there a lot of rare films clip from the northern part of Norway and from the Murmansk area. Even in colour! Very good clip from aircraft. It seems that the Russians liked the Cobra best. We heard about the background for the convoys and some survivors from the first convoys told what they had experienced. One of the British sailors said: These convoys was the same as commit suicide. The sea was too cold to survive. Some Russian vets told also about the battles on land against German forces.
Last night was episode Nr. 2 (60 minutes) most of this episode was about PQ17.
We heard about the reason to why it went so totally wrong.
One survivor told a storie about how they was machine gunned by German aircraft after they was sitting in the lifeboat. But there was another story too which told about a German uboat which came to the surface right where another lifeboat was laying. The Commander aboard spoke to the sailors, how may wounded etc. and offered them equipment and food so they could continue their long way to the nearest beach. The last thing he said was before they disappeared: Well, we have to continue our work. As the survivor said\" He was a real Gentleman\". I just wonder which uboat this must have been.
At the end there was some film clips from the last attack on Tirpitz. We could see her roll over.
We are now waiting for the next and final episode, which we all hope includes the search for and the finding of the wreck of Scharnhorst. We just have to wait to Monday......
